Therapy for Depression in Adults and Teens

Freedom beyond depression begins here.

Online and in-person psychotherapy in Ontario for those experiencing depression, low mood, emotional numbness, and feeling disconnected or stuck in life.

Is depression making life feel heavy and difficult to navigate?

Depression can feel like a quiet weight that follows you through the day.

Not always dramatic. Not always visible.

But persistent.

Perhaps you're exhausted all the time, even after sleeping.

Getting out of bed feels like a challenge.

Some people experience depression as sadness.

Others experience it as emptiness, numbness, irritability, or simply feeling disconnected from life.

Whatever it looks like for you, depression can leave you feeling as though you're merely getting through the day rather than truly living it.

The good news is that therapy can help.

Depression can look like:

  • Persistent sadness or low mood

  • Feeling emotionally numb or disconnected

  • Loss of motivation or interest in activities

  • Constant fatigue or low energy

  • Difficulty concentrating or "brain fog"

  • Sleeping too much or too little

  • Feelings of worthlessness or guilt

  • Irritability or frustration

  • Withdrawing from family and friends

  • Feeling stuck, hopeless, or unfulfilled

If you're struggling with depression, you don't have to go through it by yourself.

Together, we'll work to understand what you're experiencing, develop practical tools for moving through difficult moments, and help you reconnect with what gives your life meaning.

My approach to depression therapy

Depression often convinces us that something is fundamentally wrong with us.

That if we could just think differently, try harder, or become more motivated, everything would improve.

But depression rarely changes through self-criticism. This only increases hopelessness, guilt and shame.

In our work together, we'll explore the patterns that keep depression alive—not only the thoughts that arise, but also the protective strategies underneath them.

Sometimes a part of us has learned to withdraw because it feels safer.

Sometimes another part constantly criticizes us in an attempt to push us forward.

Rather than fighting these experiences, we learn to understand them with curiosity and compassion. What is revealed may surprise you.

What change can look like

As therapy progresses, many clients begin noticing:

✓ More energy throughout the day

✓ Greater emotional balance

✓ Less self-criticism

✓ Feeling more present with family and friends

✓ Increased motivation

✓ A stronger sense of purpose and meaning

✓ Greater self-compassion

✓ Renewed hope for the future

"Working with depression is a powerful opportunity to deepen your understanding of yourself, heal old wounds and discover life anew. Your power lies hidden in the experience of helplessness."

If You Need Immediate Support

Therapy is an important resource for many mental health concerns, but it is not an emergency service.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, are concerned for your safety or someone else's, or are having thoughts of harming yourself, please seek immediate support by:

  • Calling 911 or going to your nearest emergency department.

  • Calling or texting 988, Canada's Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Contacting a trusted family member, friend, or healthcare provider who can help you stay safe.

If you're experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, or emotional distress but are not in immediate danger, psychotherapy can provide a safe and supportive space to begin healing. If you're unsure whether therapy is the right next step, I invite you to book a complimentary 15-minute consultation. Together, we can discuss your concerns and determine how I can best support you.
